David Sledge, EdD
Dr. David Sledge graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a bachelor of Architecture degree, Third in Class with Honors from Ecole d’Art Americaines in Fontainbleau, France, summa cum laude from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a master’s degree in architecture, and summa cum laude with a Doctor of Education degree from the Drexel University with a concentration in Creativity Studies and Educational Leadership and Change. Sledge’s dissertation- Dialogue, Collaboration, and Creativity as Instructional Strategies for Graduate Architectural Education Programs: An Exploratory Investigation, addresses a scholarship gap with empirical data on the efficacy of contemporary architectural education. While a doctoral student at Drexel University, Sledge received the Lillie M. Sawyer Teacher Scholarship, Best Paper Award (creativity Category) from Knowledge, Innovation and Enterprise Conference, the Dr. Terrence Daniels Memorial Award, the Fredricka K. Reisman Award for Outstanding Graduate Work in Creativity, and induction into Drexel’s chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. Dr. Sledge currently teaches architecture at Howard University.
