DONATE to Help Black Faculty

Support African American Faculty at the KIE Conference & AAFC Retreat in Lisbon, Portugal!

Help Us Sponsor 100 African American Scholars to Attend a Transformative Global Event

We are raising funds to send African American faculty members to the 2025 Knowledge, Innovation, and Enterprise (KIE) Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, from July 22-24, followed by the African American Faculty Connects (AAFC) Retreat & Faculty Development Forum on July 24-25. Your donation will make it possible for these scholars to attend this prestigious international event, covering their conference registration, travel, accommodation, and local cultural experiences in beautiful Lisbon.

Why Your Donation Matters

African American faculty play a crucial role in advancing education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. However, they face unique challenges within academia that often limit their access to professional development opportunities. By attending the KIE Conference and AAFC Retreat, these scholars will:

  • Enhance Their Professional Skills: Participate in workshops focused on grant writing, publishing strategies, and career advancement, specifically designed for African American academics.
  • Build Global Networks: Engage with international scholars, creating collaborations that extend their influence and research impact beyond the U.S.
  • Be Empowered to Lead: Gain valuable leadership training and mentorship opportunities to help them navigate their academic careers with confidence.

Our Goal: Sponsor 100 Faculty Members

We aim to sponsor 100 African American faculty members to attend this life-changing experience. Many will be traveling outside the U.S. for the first time, and your contribution will open doors to opportunities they might not otherwise have.

What Your Donation Covers

  • Conference registration fees
  • Round-trip airfare to Lisbon
  • Accommodation for the duration of the conference and retreat
  • Cultural tours and local experiences in Lisbon

Recognition of Donors and Scholars

As part of this initiative, we will honor outstanding African American faculty during the conference, showcasing their achievements and contributions to academia. All donors will receive recognition on our website and in the conference materials, with special acknowledgments for major contributors.

Join Us in Supporting Diversity and Inclusion in Academia

This is more than just a trip to a conference—it’s an opportunity for African American faculty to gain the skills, networks, and experiences they need to excel in their careers and bring fresh, innovative perspectives to academia.
